The eye is the window of the body through which it feels its way and by which medical doctors sometimes ascertain the health status of the body. Currently, researchers have developed a simple eye test which might someday offer an effective way to identify patients who are at risk for stroke, reports Sade Oguntola. During a routine examination, eye doctors can detect signs of certain health problems — not only eye disorders like cataracts and glaucoma, but also systemic illnesses like diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases can be identified.
